Alternative energy from a solar array can be stored in batteries with or without being tied into the utility company grid to form a stand alone system. Batteries have the advantage of supplying power any time even when the sun is not shining and the utility company power is down.

Edison Solar carries a variety of batteries and battery components for renewable energy applications, including our new line of ThunderSky lithium batteries. Lithium batters can be charged and discharged deeper and approximately five times more than lead acid batteries.

Lithium batteries have extended longer life and produce none of the volatile fumes associated with lead acid batteries. All lithium batteries are 3.2 Volts. To configure them for your needs, simply divide your voltage requirement by 3.2 and round up to the nearest whole number. For standard 12 volt applications, 4 batteries should be used.

Concorde Batteries

Concorde produces high-quality sealed AGM batteries. Their Sun Xtender series is optimized for deep-cycle photovoltaic service with a safe valve-regulated, lead-calcium, maintenance-free design. There are no exposed lead terminals on this series. A recessed copper alloy terminal with threaded insert is used to reduce the chance of a short circuit. All batteries are equipped with built-in lifting handles, unless noted otherwise.

Sun Xtender Batteries are the Original AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) Technology Adopted by the U.S. Military and Worldwide Airframe Manufacturers.

Hawker PowerSource

ENVIROLINK is Hawker's new environmentally friendly, valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) battery. It is a completely sealed gel electrolyte battery to which you never have to add electrolyte water. VRLA batteries are very different from Hawker's flooded lead-acid battery products.












Hawker PV1 Industrial Batteries are a top-of-the-line battery that's optimized for deep-cycle photovoltaic service. Rated for 2,100 cycles to 80% depth of discharge. In an off-grid renewable energy homestead with reasonable attention and care, these batteries can be expected to deliver trouble-free service for 15 to 20 years.











MK Battery

Advanced American Technology batteries are well-designed and manufactured for the PV/Solar market. MK Battery uses modern computer-aided design and manufacturing techniques to produce their sealed batteries.










Rolls Surrette

Rolls Surrette batteries have gained a reputation over their 75 years of
being a leader in battery technology and design. These renewable energy batteries are designed with double polyethylene containers to provide insulation and improve battery life.






Outback Batteries

The EnergyCell RE valve regulated lead acid battery is designed for high power density and renewable energy cycling applications. This battery utilizes Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology for efficient gas recombination of up to 99% and freedom from electrolyte maintenance. EnergyCell RE batteries feature low profile terminals with threaded copper alloy inserts providing reduced maintenance and increased safety, and the top terminal models (78-106RE models) are ideal for moderate power applications and are designed to fit in standard Case 31 enclosures to accommodate a wide variety of installation scenarios.

Outback's EnergyCell GH Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) battery is designed for Grid/Hybrid storage applications. EnerSys SBS EON technology incorporates TPPL AGM (Thin Plate Pure Lead Advanced Glass Mat) which allows for greater shelf life, extended float service life in optimal operating conditions, and higher energy density. The EnergyCell GH also features front terminal access with threaded copper inserts providing low maintenance and increased safety.
